..::Our history::..
The history of the Ciurma Skins is indissolubly linked to the history of Antiruggine,
band from Sulcis born in 1999 and with 2 CDs recorded: “Ci siamo anche noi” and “Da costa a costa”,
split cd with Adunata from Sassari. Antiruggine was one of the first bands in Italy to work actively
at the Rash movement. Soon, because of the different point of view of some members of the band
concerning merely political question, the band decided to split up and to give birth to the
Ciurma Skins.
With this new project, we want to use our music as a means to communicate and express
the hardships of our life and of our people and land. Carbonia is our city; Carbonia gave
us a double choice: either to die of indifference or to react in any possible way in order
to create something new and different even in this shit-hole. Obviously,
we chose the second way!!! We are no longer young kids and come from different experiences,
both in music and in life, but there is a unique thread running through everything for us: being
a skinhead. Because this is what we are! Skinhead with no ifs and buts, and who doesn’t like that:
ka si coddiri!!!
We have been playing for more than a year with this spirit, making gigs in the whole Island and in the mainland, until October 2006: this is when the crew loses its own voice, one guitar and the bass guitar… What’s next? We decided not to give up and in November we are back in the rehearsal room with a 3/5 renewed line-up, but always with the same charge and passion. On the contrary, fresh forces induced us to do even better than before, looking forward to entering in the recording studio to finally give birth to our much coveted first work. We will go on playing and having fun, and trying to entertain you, but always keeping in mind who we are and where we come from.
Now and forever Ciurma Skins. Oi! beer and a burp in your face!
